Services and specializations

DigitalOcean services

DigitalOcean services are developed specifically for developers of all sizes from one person to another. They offer multiple levels of cloud-based hosting based on your storage and volume requirements billed monthly or on time. The level you choose determines the amount of memory, main processors, disk space, and transmission limits included in your plan.

With DigitalOcean, developers can create virtual servers or “droplets” in less than a minute. With each drop, you get full access to the root, including the ability to customize your server configuration and select your operating system.

All DigitalOcean plans also include:

Solid State Drives (SSD)
DNS management
Simple account control panel
Global Image Transfer (Ability to rotate drops in different regions of data centers from snapshots taken in another region)
Private network (its separate points in the same data center can communicate with each other without counting bandwidth limits)

DigitalOcean does not offer any managed hosting, shared or dedicated hosting plan.
Technological Infrastructure

Digital Ocean has a data center in San Francisco, London and Singapore and three in New York and Amsterdam. The Singapore data center is IPv6 compliant and DigitalOcean plans to expand support for its other data centers in the near future.

DigitalOcean has developed its own backend software. Cloud servers are created using KVM virtualization on Intel Hex Core processors with dedicated ECC Ram and SSD RAID storage. You can use the DigitalOcean panel or use the Digital Ocean API to create your own design. From the Control Panel, you can click common applications or Linux distributions in your droplets, such as: CentOS or FreeBSD, WordPress or Drupal.

Documentation and customer service

DigitalOcean offers support via a ticket system. Problems can be identified as critical for immediate attention. They do not offer live chat or phone support.

DigitalOcean aims to provide its users with the knowledge they need for complete self-sufficiency, giving them more priority in community documentation and support than in providing direct and personalized customer service.

DigitalOcean has complete documentation on its website containing a starter’s guide, knowledge base and frequently asked questions.

DigitalOcean also encourages community support through the DigitalOcean community. The DigitalOcean community is a platform created and maintained by DigitalOcean that allows users to interact and support each other. Users can create their own profiles and download surveys and subscribe to topics; read, comment, request hostgator coupon code and send tutorials; Questions and answers in questions and answers; and share API projects. The community is moderated by DigitalOcean staff who answer questions in questions and answers.
